Having assumed the pivotal role of Managing Director at the Robbins company in India for a distinguished 17-year tenure, Mr. Bhati steered the company towards excellence. His astute guidance propelled Robbins India to excel in the marketing and sales of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), spare parts, conveyors, and cutter components across a diverse spectrum of projects throughout the country.
Mr. Bhati’s strategic foresight and a firm resolve to excellence have been instrumental in fostering advancements in India’s tunneling and infrastructure landscape. His enduring legacy is characterized by an unrelenting dedication to innovation, an innate ability to stimulate growth, and a determined allegiance to elevate the standards of tunneling and infrastructure development.
During the tenure of Mr. Kapil Bhati in Robbins
The journey began with the monumental AMR Project in Andhra Pradesh in 2006, where the company supplied formidable 10-meter Hard Rock Double Shield Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). These machines bore an extensive 43 kilometers of tunnels, serving a heroic mission of transferring water from the Krishna River to drought-affected regions, significantly impacting nearly 500,000 hectares of land and ensuring vital drinking water supply to Hyderabad.
Expanding the horizons, contributed to Delhi’s growth by providing Soft Ground Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) TBMs for the city’s metro expansion in Phase 2, among other notable projects across India. The company played a pivotal role in various irrigation projects, including the Veligonda Irrigation Tunnel Project, enhancing irrigation capabilities and securing drinking water supply through the sale of high-capacity TBMs. Back on home ground, pivotal contributions were made to Mumbai’s water infrastructure and metro expansion, alongside significant involvements in projects across Jaipur, Bangalore, and Chennai.
